It's just that hull of space ship must be from material capable of withstanding at least 650 degrees Celsius (1,200 degrees Fahrenheit). Space shutle uses ceramic tiles projected for 1,260 degrees Celsius. Granted, you may not need so much if you fly in something more manoeuvrable that brick, but still, wood ignition temperature of 300 degrees Celsius (572 degrees Fahrenheit) is really not enough. |
