It's been a while since I've run a competition on here, so how about a random-draw knockout cup to kickstart the summer?
(or winter, for those of you in the Southern Hemisphere)

I'm going to try something a little different this time.

PARTICIPANTS
The first 32 people to post "I sign up" and a link to their army will play. There are no restrictions to power or trooper number for the entrants. Each player may only enter ONE army.

THE DRAW
I'll make a random draw and post the fixtures here. There won't be any seeding or grouping according to power, just the luck of the RNG.

TIMEFRAME
The competition will start a couple of days after the sign-up sheet is filled, to give everyone a fair chance not to miss the beginning.
Each round will last for one day. If the challenger in each round does not post their fights by the end of the day then they will be eliminated by default.

THE FIGHTS
In each fixture, the army with the lower power rating is the challenger. In the event of equal power, the army with the least troopers is the challenger. In the event that this is still a tie, the army with the highest level trooper is not the challenger. If things are still equal then I'll toss a coin.
The challenger must attack their opponent three times. Scoring will be by match, best of three. i.e. the first player to win two fights is the victor.
Note that this gives a slight advantage to the (lower powered) challenger, in that they can adjust their army setup in between fights to become more effective against their opponent. This is intentional.

REPORTING
Post a link to replays for all three fights in this thread, along with a note as to who won each fight. You may put this note in spoiler tags if you wish, but it MUST be included in the post. Only "numbered" direct-challenge fights count. Fights that end MISS1/MISS2/MISS3 or BAT1/BAT2/BAT3 do not count. If you have more than three fights per day available to your army then only the first three may be used.

OTHER RULES
In the event of a ruling being required, my decision will be final. Questions or suggestions may be posted in this thread, but I reserve the right to ignore them all!

I should point out that I will try to stagger the deadline dates for each of the new competitions running here, so that you're not required to send nine challenges in a single day. So if you want to sign up the same army into all three competitions then feel free.
